Tomasz Ciecierski
'Earth and Sky'
Opening on Saturday 1 April 16-18 pm
Wednesday - Saturday 12-17 pm
1st Sunday of the month 14-18 pm

From the first of April through the 13th of May Wetering Galerie will show new works by
Tomasz Ciecierski.
Ciecierski (1945 Krakov), whose paintings have been shown in Documenta IX (1992) lives and works in Warsaw.
'Earth and Sky' presents a cycle of paintings and drawings that came into being between 2004 and 2006.
These works were inspired by a drawing from 1975 that had been reproduced on
a postcard as the invitation card to the exhibition 'Tomasz Ciecierski drawings 1974 - 1994' in this gallery.
The drawing shows two polaroids of sky and earth from an airplane window and a commentary scribbled in crayon.
A few years ago, recycling the hundreds of postcards that remained from this exhibition, he decided to comment on his daily life in new drawings, a series that was entitled 'Blocks'.
At the same time, a number of new paintings will be shown, equally based on 'Earth and Sky', but in a more abstracted version of the theme.
They are the lightest, most ethereal paintings Tomasz Ciecierski has made since his first exhibition here in 1984.
