The new works by Scott Neary (1949, Harpur College, Binghamton NY and Vrije Academie, Den Haag), both on canvas and paper, represent early childhood memories, that may or may not have been coloured by the passage of time or by the patina of experience.
These images evoke a certain nostalgia, which quickly transforms to a darker, more visceral feeling.

Het nieuwe werk van Michiel Schierbeek(1948 Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam) shows new works based on space as we witness it every day: the earth a beehive of traffic and logistic flow- the sky a network of flight movements- the rivers the arteries of an enormous body.
Sometimes it is as though space only serves that one purpose: traffic.
Maps are translations of space and help us to understand and use it.
Schierbeek for his part has tried to translate these networks and movements into images.
