Reinoud Oudshoorn (1953, AKI en Ateliers 63) werkt met uiteenlopende materialen als ijzer, glas en hout, die steeds in dienst staan van zijn zoeken naar een nieuwe ruimtelijke ervaring.
Zijn beelden ontstaan in het atelier vanuit het staren en kijken naar een wit vlak, dat hij door middel van een tekening in een ruimte verandert.
Voorafgaand aan de keuze van het materiaal wordt zo de vorm die in zijn hoofd ontstaan is op papier gezet.
Gaandeweg ontwikkelt zich de keuze voor het meest geschikte materiaal voor het beeld: ijzer verwijst naar het grafiet van de tekeningen, hout is interessant door zijn tactiliteit, matglas vergroot de illusie van ruimte.
In 2010 toonde Reinoud Oudshoorn zijn werk in het buitenland met de solotentoonstelling 'Poetic reality in
space' in Gallery Skape in Seoul, Korea en met Patrick Heide Gallery tijdens The Miami Pulse Artfair in Miami.

'Mist is a safe blanket'
This statement by Reinoud Oudshoorn refers to his wanderings in the woods of his childhood. A diffuse image (mist) generates the illusion of a larger space.
Oudshoorn (1953) works in the diverse materials iron, glass and wood, all of which serve his purpose: a search for spatial harmony and, to a lesser degree, for perfection.
His works begin when he sits and stares or looks at a white space, which gradually transforms into more dimensions. The next phase is a sketch, that can finally evolve into a meticulous drawing.
The choice of the material for the sculpture is connected with the drawing and with the technical possibilities: iron is akin to graphite, wood is interesting because of its tactility, frosted glass procures a new perspective.
In 2010 Reinoud Oudshoorn showed his work internationally in the solo exhibition 'Poetic reality in
space' at Gallery Skape in Seoul, Korea and with Patrick Heide Gallery at The Miami Pulse Artfair in Miami.
